COHORT 0 KICKOFF | 1/25/2024 | First Cohort in History
BUILDSPACE COHORT 0 began on 1/25/2024. Over 70 applicants and ~50 admitted students! So much great energy and we are very excited to see what these students create over the next 6 weeks. Congrats to all of them, we are so proud!!!
As a refresher, cseed buildspace is a low stakes, fun community environment for students to work on projects/ideas they care about for 6 weeks, whether tech or non-techs, but with an emphasis on tech ideas. Our goal was to lower the barrier of entry for students to create things & believe in themselves and their abilities.
Our kickoff featured Parsa Khazaeepoul who gave 50+ students insights on how to succeed in the community of builders from his gained experience working in AI2 Incubator, building Course Finder & Ace the Interview, and participating in entrepreneurial communities on campus like Dubhacks Next.

Parsa graduated from UW Informatics in 2023 w/ Summa Cum Laude & is currently a CS Masters Student at Georgia Tech. He is an inspiring individual who has been doing tons of work behind the scenes to boost innovation in the Seattle Ecosystem! The room was full of questions and what started as a moderated Q&A got converted into a live conversation between the speaker and students. We have a feeling that this level of enthusiasm will continue through the 6-week program. Once you will get availability, you should definitely come and see the students grind yourself!
Huge shoutout to Parsa! He also mentored students throughout the entire 6 weeks and acted as a mentor and friend to the cseed board members :)
